From my earliest memories as a boy, I can remember the passion and yearning to better understand culture, traditions and rituals. I wanted to experience foreign places, learn about their histories, document and interact with locals. On a deeper level I wanted to understand why cultures existed and articulated themselves in different forms. I followed these passions into university, switched majors (from art to music and everything in between!) and completed a B.A. in Sociology and an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology. I currently pursue a Ph.D. Another important thing that has shaped me in life was being raised in the natural beauty of the state of Colorado. From a young age I was immersed in the outdoors; climbing, scrambling up 14'ers, backpacking and traveling. I took courses in mountaineering and completed an Outward Bound Wilderness program, I became an environmentalist and I care very much about our impact on this earth. My graduate research took me to South America which in a round about way  lead me to Spain. Since then I have never looked back.

Surrounded by oceans with incredible surfing, mountains to challenge the climber in me, and a 2000 year old living  history to delve into, the diversity of Spain has proved to be the perfect country for a guy like me to live in. I worked several years in the tour industry for the top rated companies in Spain, gained valuable knowledge and yet also saw things that made me rethink the idea of tourism, enticing me to create something that went beyond it. Given my background in teaching Anthropology, I designed my own cultural immersions that while incredibly fun are also focused on experiential learning, sustainable tourism through stimulating rural economies, physical challenges and self realization. I have been blessed with the opportunity to explore the entire span of this great peninsula more so than the average traveler to Spain; along St. James's way through the states of Galicia, Austurias, Cantabria and the Basque Country, to the southern landscapes of Andalucía, or to unique places in Cataluña´s interior where I currently reside. Always taking my "anthropological toolbox" with me to collect knowledge of some truly amazing places and welcoming people. I want to share my enthusiasm for Spain and lead you to these special places I have discovered which is why I have designed these outings for you. If you are travelling to the Barcelona area and are looking for day excursions or longer journeys leading you to the northern coasts of Spain, or if you are a school, church or other organization looking for large group travel or volunteer service projects in Spain, please put yourself in contact with us so we can discuss the options! To learn more about what kinds of services we are offering, please see the "What We Do" page.

With you on the journey,  -Jon
